In the early 2000s, when Hema Malini and Dharmendra's daughter Esha Deol was at the peak of her career, she was left shocked and depressed after many media reports claimed that she was a drug addict. Many publications wrongfully asserted that Dharmendra and Hema Malini's daughter was experimenting with drugs and might be sent to rehab soon. Esha Deol maintained her silence on the matter for many years, however, later, in Hema Malini’s biography titled Hema Malini: Beyond the Dream Girl by Ram Kamal Mukherjee, Esha Deol spoke about the difficult phase in her life and how the allegations affected her mental health. Esha Deol revealed how the incident left her 'depressed', and she once also offered to get her blood test done to prove to her mother, Hema Malini, that she was not taking any drugs. "I would like to say that I am dead against drugs and I have never touched it," Esha Deol was quoted by Indian Express as saying. She further added, "When that article (about her being a drug addict) came out, I was so depressed and hurt that I told my mom she could get my blood test done to check." "I would have never done anything that would put my parents to shame. Yes, I would party, I would have a few drinks with my friends, I had my share of fun, and why not? That was the right age and time. At that age, everyone parties and drinks; the only issue was that I was in the public eye," Esha Deol further said. Esha Deol is Dharmendra’s daughter from his second wife Hema Malini. She also has a sister, Ahana Deol. Before marrying Hema Malini in the 1980s, Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur. They had two sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol and two daughters from this marriage. READ | Justin Bieber finally REACTS to unfollowing his wife Hailey Bieber on Instagram: 'Someone went on my...'
